It was such a beautiful, and very sad day today. We had our last cup of tea with YWCA of Adelaide Life Member Heather Crosby before she moves interstate. This woman was the President of the YWCA Board from 1964-1968, the Executive Director from 1970-1980, attended five World YWCA Councils, was on the World YWCA Executive, and is also a YWCA Australia Life Member. From seemingly small but incredibly significant moves such as using her first name and encouraging other women to do so, and changing the word on the toilet door at the YWCA office from Ladies to Women, to advocating for law reform around rape in marriage, and being the only group to make a representation regarding women at a Refugee inquiry - we owe so so much to this incredible woman. Her legacy of decades of commitment lives on with pride at the YWCA of Adelaide. Thank you Heather for all you have done for the YWCA movement.
