It was two years ago today that we tore into the roof off of the Miller House and started the remodel that led to the Aurora Birth Center. It has definitely been a labor of love, with a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth; but being able to attend a birth there, especially during the night, with all the candles lit, is a magical experience. Birth is always a beautiful and mysterious experience, no matter where or how the baby comes out. To hear that first breath is endlessly satisfying and joyful. But to also be able to nurture women in this soft, comfortable and beautiful old space is such a blessing.
