Its so obvious that JAIS have FAILED to exercise prudence and to uphold the Federal Constitution when it carried out its tasks at the wedding ceremony. On behalf of MyWomen, I urge our parliamentarians to amend the laws to stop overzealous officials from the JAIS from overstepping their boundaries. I fully condemn JAIS for stopping a wedding at a Hindu temple because it suspected that the bride was a Muslim. JAIS should have made checks first before taking any action on the bride and causing inter-religious strain. It is only reasonable for JAIS to take action after getting complete and verified information as such raids on wedding can cause religious strife. JAISs action of going into the temple was tantamount to trespassing. At least JAIS must learn how to exercise basic common sense and to be rational at all times. - Dato G
