It will be another beautiful, warm fall day in the KWWL viewing area. Highs will be in the mid 70s to around 80 for the afternoon with southeast winds at 5-15 mph, with some higher gusts, once again. The remnants of Tropical Storm Karen are working up the East Coast and will continue to slow the west to east movement of any weather systems over the U.S. However, it won’t stop the movement all together…. Low pressure will track from the Southwestern states to the northeast. This will have quite a bit of energy and will be able to produce severe weather over portions of the Plains states today and tomorrow. Most of the action will be to our northwest, but we will have a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms Friday night as the cold front trailing the low is dragged through the state. Highs on Friday will be in the mid 70s to low 80s but will cool into the mid to upper 60s early on Saturday. Temperatures Saturday afternoon will be steady or falling as the winds kick around to the northwest. By Monday, Karen should be a thing of the past and systems will start tracking normally over the nation. We will have the next batch of rain tracking through late Monday through Wednesday with much cooler air moving in. Highs on Monday will be in the low 60s and will drop to the low 50s by Wednesday.
