It will be two months since our precious CLARA lost her life. We are sure everyone wants to know whats taking so long for the DA to decide weather he will or will not be filing charges on the man who stabbed Clara. District Attorney Peter Skandalakis made this statement on September 13, 2013 to the Times-Herald. I have already met with the Newnan Police Department investigator who is assigned to this case and have been briefed on it,” Skandalakis said. “A final decision will not be made on the case until I have had the chance to review the final file.” Skandalakis said his office is receiving a large number of calls, e-mails, and faxes by people interested in the case. “It’s unbelievable [the amount of contact he has been getting],” Skandalakis said Thursday. His office, which has multiple locations in the five-county area it serves, is being inundated so much that Skandalakis sent out a message to all his staffers so that they can share it with people who call. “I understand how important this is to a lot of people, and my decision will be made public. I will let everybody know,” he said. “I just don’t have time to answer all these e-mails and faxes. I appreciate everyone’s interest in the case. We are not sure if he is waiting for us to move on, or if he needs to be reminded that we are all waiting patiently for him to make a decision. I encourage you to start writing and emailing the DA again, and let him know we would like an update on the case regarding Claras death. We cant be silent any longer. We cant let Claras death be in vain. We cant let this type of abuse to continue to happen. We must take a stand and come together again and remind him we are not going away.
