It would appear that Sinn Féin decided as a party to send out mixed messages to their voters regarding the water charges with some saying they would pay them and others saying they wouldnt, but theyve been caught out by the massive scale of the protests and the anger of the people. First Mary Lou has done a U turn and now Pearce. Like Fianna Fail theyve been left scrambling after the anti-charges movement. On Saturday it was a bit embarrassing to see so many politicians who hadnt come anywhere near our many meetings clambering onto the platform. We wont let them off the hook. Its clear that huge numbers will boycott the charges and were now challenging Sinn Féin and Fianna Fail politicians to stand by them by declaring their support for the boycott.
