It would be very unfair to generalise about Victoria Hospital. My - TopicsExpress

It would be very unfair to generalise about Victoria Hospital. My late mother trained there many years ago and later became a midwife. Sadly following routine surgery in 2005 (dilation of the oesophagus) my mum received a perforation caused from the endoscopy. She was left on a ward neglected for 6 days with the perforation left undetected. It was evident that the surgeon was clearly very remorseful at my mothers inquest. He knew that the post operative care was very poor in relation to my mothers case aged 65. It has always been my view, ( and that of several independent medical professionals) that the consultant surgeon was let down by his after care team allowing 6 days of chronic infection to ultimately cause multi organ failure and death.
