Italian Festival at Zona Rosa A free festival celebrating Italian traditions and Italian-American culture runs Friday through Sunday at Zona Rosa. Festa Italiana will include live entertainment, wine tasting, a pasta-eating contest, children’s activities, a Catholic Mass, Italian car show and entertainment headliners Micheal Castaldo and The Bronx Wanderers. Events will center around the Zona Rosa Town Square stage and include: • Friday: Miller Marley Entertainers at 5:15 p.m.; Frank Cherrito and Frank Vigliaturo at 6 p.m.; Kate Cosentino, 6:30 p.m.; Joseph Vincelli, 7 p.m.; a meatball eating contest at 8 p.m., followed by entertainers Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses. • Saturday: a demonstration by Chef John Avelluto of Italian Delight Restaurant at 11 a.m. followed by the annual cannoli eating contest at 11:30 a.m.; and a variety of entertainment acts throughout the afternoon. Micheal Castaldo performs at 7 p.m. The Bronx Wanderers perform a tribute to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons at 8:45 p.m. • Sunday: Catholic Mass is at 10 a.m.; the Italian car and motorbike show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A pasta eating contest is at 1 p.m. UNICO, an Italian-American Service Organization, will present awards and scholarships at 2 p.m. Afternoon entertainers include Linda Scola, Dolce Divas; Tony, Phil & Franks A lot, and the Abel Ramirez Trio.
