Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon hails Celtic keeper Fraser Forsters World Cup call-up BUFFON is a huge admirer of the Parkhead No.1 and says he should be next in line for a starting berth in the England side after Joe Hart. GIANLUIGI BUFFON last night hailed Fraser Forster’s dream World Cup call-up to the England squad. The Italian superstar has been a big supporter of Forster since his Juventus side came up against Celtic in the Champions League last year. World Cup winner Buffon, who is set to face the English in Italy’s opening Group D game, said: “Forster deserves it. “You can talk about him not being in a top league but the amount of clean sheets he has kept has been incredible. “And he has proved over the past two seasons in Europe he can perform at the highest level.” Buffon still expects his opposite number to be Manchester City’s Joe Hart, England boss Roy Hodgson’s likely preferred choice ahead of Forster and West Brom keeper Ben Foster. But he said: “If they ever needed to replace Joe, Forster should be the second choice. “I am sure there will be talk about his future but he must not even think about anything other than England.” Celtic boss Lennon said: “It’s a huge feather in Fraser’s cap and great for the club.”
