Its 8:30 pm....the light is fading fast....the river is coming down yet still a little murky.....Im fly fishing for Stripers...they should come in the shallows towards evening...there could be big ones at your feet...I have a 10 wt fly rod which should handle a fifty pounder....the fly...a helgramite imitation which I add a mr. twister tail, to give it more action, dark color cause I figure the fishll see it better in muddy water....I cast in the shallow water,..the fly stops...damn...I figure its stuck on a rock so I give it a jerk....well the rock jumps out of the water about two feet and does a flip...WOW !...yea!!!!!!...an eighteen inch Smallmouth Bass !!!!....I should be able to yank this fish in with the heavy fly rod I got...nope....this fish faught tough....took a little line and a few minutes to bring at hand.....sometimes I like hooking Smallies better than Stripers!!!! First theres a jerk on one end of the line,..then theres a jerk on the other end of the line:)
