Its A Rough Road featuring Apryl Renee Pipe and John Baumann, from What Stays (2014) Right Brain Performancelab’s What Stays is an exploration of human living space in which audiences are taken on a journey mapped with layers of dance, song, sound and shadows. The piece is about the literal and metaphorical intersections of time passing and home, the complex emotional pull that is often felt when coming home, the stories that we have about our homes, our feelings about that home that lives within us and the home that we remember, no matter how inaccurately. This piece was performed in Berkeley, California at The Shawl-Anderson Dance Center in June 2014. In this section, Home Poem, Apryl Renee Pipe, who is at that moment, in London, performs a solo piece based on a poem about the idea of home with musical accompaniment by Bob Marsh and David Samas, and with dancer, Bob Webb (in the window at the top of the frame). Founded in 1998 by Jennifer Gwirtz and John Baumann, Right Brain Performancelab is a hybrid arts collaboration that explores humanity and existence by way of metaphor. Their multi-disciplinary process honors the individuality of each person’s physical structure at all ages using deep mind-body connectivity and game-based improvisation. The performances are deeply experimental, richly human and bring to life the place where metaphors live. From 1998 to the present Right Brain Performancelab has gathered collaborative performers from a broad array of backgrounds from dance and performance art to musical theater to make ensemble work. The group creates work as an ensemble and is currently directed by Jennifer Gwirtz. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Classic Radio _______ FB: r-js/1vz7Pcz / TW: r-js/1kHd2Qt / Listen to LIPSapp Classic Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #classicrock #rollingstones #ledzeppelin #santana #eagles #zztop #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan #acdc #michaeljackson #pinkfloyd #madonna #u2
