Its All Nippon Friday. I did write a whole story about Harajuku but being the Holiday Season I want to take this time to address a problem that isnt just in Japan but is a problem throughout the world. My first visit to Tokyo I stayed in Shinjuku and everyday I would walk to the train station and everyday I saw this old man sitting in front of 7/11. This guy looked like he was 100 years old. He was Homeless. He saw me everyday. He looked at me as if he had never seen an american. He never asked anyone for a hand out. He didnt have a sign but I knew he was in need. So everyday I gave him what was just a little pocket change. No more then a buck or two. Everyday this old guy would get a bowl of hot rice and coffee from 7/11 with the money I gave him. The people that saw me do this made it clear they didnt like me doing this. I didnt care. This old man was brought to tears everyday that I gave him enough for a meal. He never asked me and he always said no at first. He went in got his rice and showed me what he bought. I still think of this guy. It was January 2011 when I did this. I will never know what happened to him or if he is still alive. But when I was there I was a friendly stranger that gave him some money for food. This Holiday Season lets not just be grateful what we have and what we give our friends and family but lets remember to give to the ones that dont have. youtu.be/HUjrdpquYks
