Its Easter to the Christians and after tomorrow I hope that they will begin to kill fewer people in wars, kill fewer intelligent animals for food, strive to understand science, have more empathy for other people and animals, begin to think forward about the world they will be leaving behind to their offspring and start to question the need for obscene wealth for the very small group of people while so many other dont even have food, health care, or a safe place to live. It is my hope that they become more like their humanist competitors so that they can truly be accepted by God, should it turn out that God actually exists. I love my christian friends and I enjoy the bright side of their culture while the dark side of it, I try to overlook. We are entirely one species who are all children from Africa. Our ancestors had traveled very far to arrive where we are today and each of us has picked up strange beliefs along the way that consoled us and made life bearable in some of the most unbearable situations. Sometimes those beliefs brought to us peace while other times war. Slowly, as we watch those beliefs fade with the advancement of science, I hope that we can all find meaning in our existence together with empathy, understanding, peace, love and the strong bond that we all share.
