Its Just Cold Air: Meditation Challenge Standing in the lobby - TopicsExpress

Its Just Cold Air: Meditation Challenge Standing in the lobby of a hotel at a computer station–standing, because the computer station has no chairs. People are coming and going, chatter, cold blasts of air from the front doors opening and closing, the elevators beeping, luggage dragged on wheels, more chatter, laughter, and so on. I can’t control this situation–that fact that I am writing my blog post here in this less than quiet and less than private locale. But it doesn’t bother me that much. Maybe because I just did a (insert sound of man dumping garbage loudly into trash can right next to me) short seated meditation upstairs in my room before coming down here. So I feel tired, relaxed. It is late. I can’t control the noise, the sounds, the people walking around me, the cold air, the distractions, the door that just slammed loudly to the front desk office. Sharon has said this practice is “relational”, that you are not changing what is happening, but instead how you relate to it.
