Its Make a Difference Monday! Many of you remember that last year one of our key leaders in Humanitys Team, Dee Meyer, lost the home she was renting in the Colorado floods. Dee and her family lost everything. Many of you helped with donations in helping Dee and her family get back on their feet. This past week marked the one year anniversary of the flood and many of the people who live/lived in Jamestown gathered together support each other, pay respects for the one life lost and to look at the future. At this gathering, Dee got a most beautiful and thoughtful surprise. Thanks to Dees friends and neighbors Martine Amade and her husband Bala this is todays Make a Difference Monday story. Thanks for sharing. Since the graphic with the text is difficult to read, Im retyping the text here: It had been pulled out of wreckage and put aside before the whole collapsed mess was hauled away. I could not be sure it was so warped and covered with mud, but as I got closer, I saw that it was actually what I thought it was. Unbelievable! Just a few days earlier, I had seen Dee and she told me then, one of the things that she really missed from her now non-existing house was the painting of Stallions that she had purchased from me years before. And here it was. It had splintered holes in it, no frame, and only part of it was visible, but I thought it just might be saveable. My incredibly handy husband embraced the project and started sawing, sanding, gluing. Then I proceeded scrubbing, patching and painting and voila!
