Its Monday, near noon (the time I typically take to prepare lessons for the upcoming week), and the creative possibilities are endless. Some of the best things about teaching are not just explaining difficult vocabulary quickly or making tricky grammar easy to use, but more importantly, connecting with that student: Connecting with that student who feels alone, entertaining that student who feels bored or tired, or inspiring that student who feels lost. Ive been blessed these last two years with the opportunity everyday, in each and every lesson, with each and every student to realize the dream I had long ago, to provide lessons based beyond books, where students can find their voices and be heard and connect and go on. Has it been 2 years already? Id like to once again thank my students, especially the ones since that summer of 2012, who have continued coming week after week to experience Steves Willy Wonka boot camp style lessons (thats the best way to describe my style). Id also like to thank my international students / audience, in Egypt, Syria, Italy, Mexico, North Korea (or south I forget), and more, who follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Here are 2 videos from the anniversary party Id like to share: 1 from the party and 1 of Steve singing (Im NOT a singer just an entertainer!) I hope this message has maybe connected, entertained, inspired and hopefully not bored you. Thanks and have a great week!
