Its #NationalComingOutDay and while we have a ton of festivities on hand, I think the most important thing we can do on this day is to extend an ear to listen, a hand to hold, and compassion in our hearts. Its never easy for someone to admit that they might be different in any way, so why is it important? It is important to let others ahead of you know it does get better and it is important to be true to who you are. I have spent the better part of my life being an equality advocate, pitching in whenever and wherever I could, not an easy feat hailing from such a small town myself. We are all in this great big thing called life together so its important that we can at least feel comfortable and confident in our own skins. Defining your place in life should not be any less important regardless of who you love. But before you love anyone you must first love yourself. That makes defining your own identity paramount for your future happiness. Remember there is #NoHonorInBigotry we all cry the same tears, bleed the same blood and most importantly love from the same corners of our hearts! Be an ally, make a difference. Lets just love one another and worry less about who we spend the rest of our lives with but rather that we are able to spend the rest of our lives in happiness in love. #MakeADifference #BeAHero
