Its Saturday afternoon, and Maggie has tolerated her antibiotics well thus far - the infection is under control! We are so thankful it was a manageable strain and that she was not allergic to the meds! Tender mercies for sure in a month that seemed relentless with bad news. Shes feeling more like herself and docs are predicting she will be discharged on Sunday to go home. Jake & Davy will learn to give her IV antibiotics at home for the remaining run of doses,.. they will resume their normal new normal of daily morning radiation, and quiet family time at home for the rest of the day. Sorry for the lack of updates recently. We are learning how much WAITING happens each day....take a blood culture & wait...try a medication & wait...check vitals & chart them & wait....talk to another doc & then wait..seemed like there was never a final point to say OK WE NOW HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS.
