Its a brand new day !!!!.... again a bit of a wet one but also again cant really call it rain ... least not in the area of the OC Im in n around ... but better than nothing still rules the world ... Twofer Tuesday April 1st 2014 is in the books and it went pretty good ... Did my thing here in Fullerton till round 10 ish n off to Carson I was ... visited the new property ... had a 45 minute sit down convo with the Maint guy hired bout 3...4 weeks ago ... had to send him off to the clinic and I doubled back on most of the Maint request he had the past couple weeks ... so checking on this n that and although the kid needs to improve and be bit more detailed Ive recommended that I go back today ... have another sit down explain in detail what I mean and expect and let him know that the heat is on if he wants to stay employed .... If in fact he passes the drug test which Ill know the results by 9am or so .... If he doesnt then someone from HR will meet me down there and do their duty of letting him go .... hope that doesnt happen but ya never know ... in talking shop with Linda last evening its kinda amazing how my attitude towards being so called in charge of others has softened these past 5...6 years .... when I was promoted to this position 81/2 years ago I was on fire trying to throw my weight around ... Or least I seemed to be ... always all serious n kinda sorta my way or hi way type attitude ... but after bout a year or so into it I realized that I was the ass hole boss I never wanted to be so I began trying to take a different approach and slowly but surely its now a way of life and with it comes a lot more respect and Im most definetly not viewed as the ass hole boss at all ... the 40 or so guys who kinda sorta answer to me trust and know nowadays that I on their side and understand a lot better the in n outs of the daily grind .... and I go to bat for all of them as long as their honest n dont try to pull the dreaded wool over my eyes .... so with that in mind in this particular case Im again kinda sorta sticking my neck out for this kid ... and I say kid in a respectful way ... he being 28 years old and a veteran of the armed forces .... so again hope the drug test is clean then the sit down and let him know the score .... the politically correct score cuz Im most def old skool in the choice of words I use sometimes .... meaning instead of saying ... Dude .... Get your shit together ... along with what the bleep ya doing and on on ... Its gotta be more more like .... Please try n do better or its gonna be outta my hands on what might happen to your future with the company .... and so on n so on.... ahhhhhh the politically correct ages of dealing with suspect employees sure has changed since I was coming up .... and Im sure a lot of us old timers know what I mean .... lol... anyway not much nowadays makes for a bad day .... Ill roll with it all the while keeping a good attitude and doin a bit of whistling while I work ... DODGERS WIN but still cant watch em cuz these cable giants cant agree .... cmon now get it together !!!!..... Angels gets pelted AGAIN and I like it .... Clayton down for next 4 to 5 weeks along wit Beared B Wilson .... Tiger out of the Masters with a bad back ... Lakers lose AGAIN and I dont like any of what I just mentioned .... what I do like is thats its get over the hump day ... Hot morning cup was all that .... morning read was made better by reading BRUNO the Police Dog is on the improve in a big way and will be goin home from the hospital soon so a BIG a YAY for that !!!!.... GO BRUNO !!!!!..... Okay party people .... Go get yourself one muy bueno day .... and if things go wrong and they sometimes do .... hang tuff ... and try n remember it soon shall pass !!!!....
