Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings Today I embark on one of the first true adventures of my life. On November 6th I was fired from a dead-end job which I absolutely hated. Spirits deflated and my confidence at an all-time low, my brother Benjamin and his wife Rebecca took a risk and believed in me in spite of the fact that I did not share their confidence. I drove down to Texas and together we booked a tour of the West coast. Today is the actualization of our hard work, and I am thrilled. As I drove out of Sugarcreek this morning, I felt layers of fear and death and cynicism just melting off of me. The Holy Spirit is re-acquainting me with joy. I am deeply saddened to be leaving my beautiful wife Tiffany for the next month, but the degree to which she believes in me and trusts me is such a blessing. To quote the bible, and more recently my grandmother, who is a bastion of hope in spite of her advanced Alzheimers and failing health, my cup runneth over.
