Its a shame that Angels Flight had to be shut down. When I - TopicsExpress

Its a shame that Angels Flight had to be shut down. When I worked in LAs Financial District (Bunker Hill), I rode the funicular day in and day out. It was a bumpy ride, to say the least. But that had no affect on the camaraderie of its passengers. And the Operators (Bill, Chris, Charles) always greeted us with a smile. I dont think they realized the impact they had on us commuters. Sometimes a smile or friendly gesture can help set the tone for a great day. Angels flight was shut down in 2013 due to mechanical issues. One of the cars tilted off the rail. Now it just sits idle. Hopefully, they will get the funicular up and running again. I feel fortunate to have had the pleasure of experiencing a bit of LAs history (the shortest railway in the nation). I am ever more fortunate to have had the opportunity to ride Angels Flight with my son. Perhaps one day hell have the opportunity to ride with his children.
