Its a spring sports edition of Wednesday With Whalebone!! Todays topic: Baseball. I Love the game of baseball. Its the game I grew up playing the most as I was in Little League and actually played it freshman year of high school... Although not very well! Just ask coaches Ken Dobson and John Johnson!! My dad - Rollie, also coached baseball more than any other sport and was head coach at Romeoville from 1979-85. It and softball are the only sports I believe I could coach. I Love the idiosyncrasies of the sport and still find a good baseball game to be as suspenseful as anything. That all said I could give a care less about the recently opened MLB Season!! Yes, Im a Chicago Cubs fan, but really a bitter one now... Call me a fair weather fan if you want, but why should I be excited about a team that will likely lose over 90 games for a record breaking fourth straight season???? Not even remotely excited about it. Wake me up in September for football!!
