Its about to get heavy; I have mixed feelings on the supreme courts decision today. On the one hand, I know that equal opportunity and access to higher education across racial lines is an incredible opportunity. On the other, race based admittance programs seem to trade the discrimination against one group for the discrimination of another. Does it leave us any better off? As a straight white male who was born into a relative degree of privilege, I hope this recent event can prompt sincere dialog about what we can and should do to address the root causes of some of the disparities facing our country.
