Its all coming together. I close tomorrow morning on the sale of my house. My children are all grown. Ive looked to a future time when I would be free to just go. People are asking me Where will you go? I answer Nowhere. Everywhere. Anywhere. I will have 30 days to be out. 60+ years of stuff to get where it will do the most good. All the dishes have already gone to my son and the soon-to-be mother of his son for their use. He gets the 4 poster king size bed, too. My eldest son gets my grandfathers shotgun. Hard to carry it on a bike, even more difficult to work the bolt action while dodging cagers. Hell of a nice shotgun though. Lion killing spear, Egyptian hieroglyphs of Judgement Day, ostrich feathered wooden mask, brass hookah, watercolors done by Ashley, walking staffs that have seen many, many miles of wilderness trails, and papers. Papers cards, paper portraits, paper forms, and paper copies. Enough paper to make a tree, Im sure. What to keep, locked in a tiny safe, what to burn on a big bonfire. A full filing cabinet, stacks of mail, National Geographic magazines aplenty and a bookcase that fills a wall. Ill feel guilty throwing away much of it but, just damn, where do I find someone that wants it all? I can walk and never look back but it looks a bit daunting right now.
