Its all happening at the Peak...as you would be aware, everyone and everything at the Sanctuary is going through an amazing and life-changing transformation as we speak! There are new spectacular looking buildings, people working tirelessly everywhere and lots of happy faces of young children, playing at our Summer Camp! Julie Veloo you are a marvel of nature!! The devoted and extremely excited staff are also busily preparing for the 1st September, when Kindergarten programs begin again for the new school year. Recently staff met together, collaboratively, to share and reflect on their ideas and thoughts on the school year that had just been completed! (Their first ever Peak school year-that is!)... What an overwhelming achievement in itself! We just wanted to share with you, some of the collective thoughts from the group, on the Peak Highlights-for both staff and precious children... *The children seem much happier and much more settled now *Staff are so happy to come to work each day because they can see the difference that they are making to these childrens lives *Feedback from parents has been more and more positive over time *Parents are now sharing stories that their children are going home singing songs and mimicking behaviours from their teachers and their friends! We also took time to consider the impact that the program has had already on children who have been a part of the inaugural Kindergarten group... We wondered what special memories these children will have taken away with them from this unique experience? If they were able to share stories about their experience, with a friend, we thought that they might say- *We didnt have to travel too far to get there and so we didnt get too cold on the way *We learnt lots of new things like songs and we got to draw pictures *We were happy to get special gifts sometimes *We had new friends to play with *We got lots of good food to eat *We can play lots of new games now with our families and our friends *We got to go in a bus to see aeroplanes at the airport and some old trains one day! With a new building filled with classrooms and staff,families, children and a whole community in the Ger district filled with anticipation, excitement and hope for a positive future, we look forward, in awe and wonder to the year ahead!
