Its been a joy getting to watch a migratory group of Lesser Scaup Ducks that have been with us this past week. This is the first year that we have had them and they are part of the diver duck family that swim and feed underwater. We have been able to watch them out our front window as they continually dive underwater to feed and pop back up seconds later. They spend the summer breeding months from the Northwest U.S. through Canada and into Alaska and migrate here to the South for a winter break. We have counted as many as 19 a few mornings.
