Its been a long time since I didnt remember a weekend. Im told - TopicsExpress

Its been a long time since I didnt remember a weekend. Im told that I passed out sitting up in my chair on Sunday at 5:00 A.M. I then proceeded to stay out until 9:00 A.M. today (28 hours). The family got me up a couple of times to go to the bathroom and drink some water, but I was rather disoriented. They put up the Christmas tree behind me while watching WHITE CHRISTMAS in front of me, with the kids running around me, and I never heard a thing! Now it gets strange. I awakened with no pain in my back. However, my tongue, lips, jaw, and fingers are numb. Vertigo galore. Nancy took me to radiation treatment at 10:30, but arrived to find the machine is down for the day. The office missed us on the road. So we went on to visit Ross. He already is off pain meds other than Ibuprofen. Of course, he cant move his mouth to talk, but he is pretty good as a ventriloquist. He told us about a candy store in Cincinnati famous for a type of candy, but couldnt get us to understand. It sounded like Franks chus. I tried for chocolate-coated hotdog, but that got me a look. Finally he said, Jason at Museum. Ahh, Jason M French--last name French. French! Then he made a chewing motion with his fingers. French Chews! Nope, that aint happenin for a while. He agreed as he swallowed more coffee from a syringe. Back home in time to get the MRI report from the spinal specialist. Doctor was going to recommend shot, but upon hearing of my weekend, I now am referred back to my family physician to be sure I didnt have something else happen. Then well address the back again with an additional MRI of the neck since the neck could cause these new symptoms, too. Add to this that Nancy is quietly fighting another kidney stone, and you have an idea of our Christmas household. Fun times! So, Ill do my Christmas tradition and watch Die Hard. Proper reminder that life is not all sweetness and light because it is Christmas. Christ comes in real time when life is filled with pain, uncertainty, doubt, violence, and anger. Seems fitting for a Christmas when Im working again at not giving up. ;)
