Its been a really interesting day! Beginning with the unexpected birth of a foal on our property!! She is beautiful!... We managed to sneak a short video at dawn shortly after birth as she learned to stand for the first few hours of life, before retreating into deeper woodland to escape the heat of the day. Amidst the commotion, our rescued baby butcher bird (named Banshee) also took his first flight ever! Making it from the couch to our shoulders, and later, flying quite freely around the lounge in short bursts! One step closer to his eventual release :) I have been making little progress with my electronics experiments in the gaps between the animals needs, but have built a few new devices to aid my investigations. These being, a joule thief circuit (to help me leach small currents), a toroidal transformer (hand-wound, to step up said leached currents), soldering many adapters and connectors (as foresight), and prepared and scavenged several cells to trial as power sources. The transformer is promising, but now I am attempting to devise pulsed DC circuits or at least invert it to AC to get the oscillations which I seek. I simply can not switch my fingers fast enough to emulate anything close to 60Hz, but its been a blast trying :) And, more so, keeps me inspired whenever I see the voltmeter spike above expectation. Later that day, we found the baby horse nursing with the remaining herd higher up in the forest (a video compilation will follow when I get some more time, but here is a dawn encounter where we see a weary new born creature greet its very first day :) I hope you all enjoy ;) Ken Killeen facebook/My.Terran.Sky
