Its been a while i ranted so i do not beg your indulgence after all you still bear the rights to gloss over this piece and move on to more important posts and last time i checked i still retained the right to use this space as Mark demands of me with his consistent questioning of what is on my mind. I noticed something in church yesterday that is going to make me take a swing at some members of my fellow umunwanyi ,i hope those guilty have their protective gear on. Ladies, please answer me, to what gain is it to your spirits, soul and bodies to be rude and impolite to a man who has mustered all the courage in the world to approach you? Well, there i was after service fellowshipping after fellowship when i noticed this spirit filled sister who was standing exchanging pleasantries with other members when a sharp looking well dressed brother walked up to her. From the way the poor dude hesitated, i could see he had to breath in and out a zillion times and given himself pep talks just to be able to say hi to her. Finally he approached her, almost stammered a greeting and voila all hell was let loose. The lady ridiculed him, gave him a stern look and stomped off.I had never seen a more embarrassing scenario. Poor guy picked what was left of his manhood and skulked off. Some of us pray for Superman and we walk past Clark Kent everyday.I am not saying pick aso ebi colors the minute he says hi, but always remember that this world is a very small circle. Not every hi would lead to Here comes the Bride hymnal being played, but great friendships can be fostered that may even span generations. If you have to say No please go about it with a soft landing being careful to leave the guys self esteem intact. Do it with a smile, and explain politely that you are not searching at that moment. I have heard of referrals that led to marriages. Not every kabashing and wailing will bring the significant other down. Most of the answers to that prayer depends on our attitude and how you treat that gawky, nerdy but interesting guy (if you give him the opportunity to have his say). Bottom line is be more genial, make him feel important (yes he has the same rights as that not so cool guy whose cool car and clothes maketh a way for him lol), make a new friend, and just maybe he may turn out to be the Spiderman in Peters skin.
