Its been an emotional day. For those of you close to me you know its been an emotional month. Im looking at the support here and Im overwhelmed by it honestly. John says - Mary too - that my problem isnt a lack of resources and support - its that I dont ask. Im also looking at some of the dogs we have in our rescue right now. 9 puppies left - all dump strays from Ray County. Lester - dump dog with his eyes barely open - still amazed he didnt freeze to death on the front porch. Mitzie - false pregnancy and cystic ovaries from KC. Very sick for a while but all better now and meet and greet for her tonight. Vilula and her tribe - stuck in a small town shelter. Anna Smores and her 6 - on track to be born in the woods and eaten by coyotes had she not wandered in. Jesus and Wiley - asshole chis from KC that never would have made it out if we hadnt have taken them. Wakeen who by the way gave up and went to the bridge two days ago. It was just too much for his heart. Im sorry I didnt say anything - I couldnt bring myself to post. I have 4 of the most beautiful shihtzuish puppies youve ever seen stashed in foster - dumped on John on Thanksgiving and bottle fed for weeks. I posted one of them on Christmas day and he caused such a ruckus I took him down. I havent even mentioned them or posted since because Im so sick of being accused of breeding. Ive talked to my inspector about the breeder dumps at the ranch and we arent sure what to do about it - just fix them up and find them homes but Im not sure what the plan is for those kids yet. Four newfie puppies that I havent mentioned either because I really dont know if theyll be ok or not - working their way through shots now and gallons of wormer. A little shepherd pup that someone chucked over the fence - John named him Junior. Tillie the scared biter that Ill never find a home for. My angel Mary has agreed to take her. Bambi - how do I ever give that girl up? Angel the really old really sweet poodle with rotten teeth and a huge tumor. Another porch dog at the ranch. It goes on and on like that. These dogs mean something. Their little lives are important. Melissa says 142 dogs rescued from Excelsior Springs shelter. I love those two girls at that shelter and everything they stand for. I had no idea that number was so high. Who goes to a dog pound to relax and regroup? This girl thats who. John says we need to rescue and rescue needs us. The offers for help we have here just from today will be a good start. Ill learn to ask more - Ill learn to take whats offered. With Jannines offer to match donations Im going to spin out a monumental fundraiser like you have NEVER seen from Reno Ranch and well keep doing that until the village is sick of me - then well either try something else or well shut our doors later. One more year - how bad could one more year be then well take it from there one day and one dog at a time. Ill be back later with details. This day has really meant a lot to me and even more to the dogs that need to come here. Thank you will never be enough but its all I have for now. Thank you. You guys are amazing.
