Its been quite a ride since I met the boys of Illvis Freshly, originally starting out with the weak ass handle of The Funkee Wadd Squad, We were blessed with our first show opening up for some of the leaders of the Canadian electronic scene, SkiiTour, for 5D Paradigm Productionss warehouse party in Duncan. Since then we have had the chance to open up for acts such as, The Gaff(Mike Gaff), Mafia Kiss, Funkanomics, JPOD the beat chef(Jason Podsta), Stickybuds(Tyler Martens), Emotionz, and to share the stage at festivals with the likes of everyone favourite turntablist, JFB(Jean-Marc Jfb) and many many more incredible artists. Within around 6 months we have made a dream become a reality with these amazing gigs, multiple music videos, and being on the final touches of our debut album, The Illenium Falcon LP. This video, Funk Like This is such a trip due to the fact that the house in which we shot the video is the place where I met Dan Danimal House and Susej Zevetse by fluke while mixing with Bren Hall Aka B-Mid, which led to Phil Lyons, whom I had worked with musically for years before hand, joining the project. This video is mindblowingly incredible, so many AMAZING people are present in it, some of Victorias absolute finest, and without every single person present and not present we would never have had the chance to do this. Super Huge, massive, incredible props go out to Jim Vanderhorst of Rebel Cause Films for making the trip to Victoria, shooting, directing, editing, and being the driving force behind the shoot, and also just for being one of the most radical dudes ever, to DJ Anger from PK Sound for all of the help pre game to get us ready for the video, to Long and McQuade for your cheap(In price) equipment so us broke ass musicians can do things of this nature, and to Shane Battley, Oaklin Caissie, Jackson Yauck, Mike Demers, Evelyn Katherine Easton, Bren Hall, Nicole Donaghy, Ryan Felske, Devin Harley James, Inigo, and every single one of our fans that have given us the chance to come this far. Finally lets just take a second to give the biggest amount of love to the stars of the video. Ceddie Bear, WHAT THE HELL MAN! Performance of a lifetime, you put everything you had into this, thank you so much for portraying a borderline insane neighbour, and to Kaitlind Allura and Simone Page for quite possibly being the more smoking hot cops in the history of man and for absolutely killing your roles! We will never be able to fully thank the 3 of you!!! And also to Justin Mt Doyle for your banana eating, banana suit wearing golden cameo.
