A surface trough will move eastwards across southern Queensland during Monday and Tuesday. Hot, and at times gusty northwest winds over southern Queensland ahead of the surface trough. Forecast for the rest of Sunday - Showers and storms over the southern districts and the Central Highlands, extending across to the southeast coast during the evening. Fine and clear elsewhere. Mainly light to moderate southeast to northeast winds over the eastern and northern districts, light to moderate westerly winds over the southern interior. Monday 27 October - Hot with elevated fire danger over the southern interior and the southeast. Showers and storms are possible in a broad band from the Central West down to the states southeast. Fine and sunny over the rest of the state. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds across the southern districts and the central west. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds elsewhere. Fire Danger - Extreme to severe over large parts of the southern interior. Severe over the southeast and the northern interior. High to very high elsewhere. Tuesday 28 October - The surface trough should extend from the northwest of the state down to the southeast. Hot with elevated fire danger ahead of the trough. Milder, but still above average temperatures behind the trough over the southern interior. Some showers and storms ahead of the trough in a broad band from the northwest down to the southeast of the state. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Wednesday 29 October - The surface trough should shift northwards, producing a band of showers and storms from the Gulf Country down to the Capricornia and Wide Bay coasts.
