Its days like today when I think of my grandfather. A guy I only knew as Papa and a mailman. But long before I was born, a Bronze Star recipient. According to a letter from the Major General of the U.S. Army, a man who rendered outstanding services in directing operations of his reconnaissance platoon in the Rose Pocket. A man whos aggressive action resulted in the capture of over 450 enemy personnel and the death of more than 100 enemy troops. Whenever I think Ive done something noteworthy, I look at this letter hanging on my wall. God bless those who protect and serve this country!
