Its exciting to see progress all over Anchorage! In 2009 I was approached by the TDX corporation regarding the vacant armory property on the corner of Spenard and International Airport Road. The Municipal owned property was underutilized and TDX proposed a development concept that coincided with the redevelopment of the Spenard area. The municipality worked with TDX to reach an agreement on the sale of the property and to move the project forward. Today, the Alaska Park facility is well underway and plans for future development continue. The unique 19,500 square foot structure will not only feature an aviation theme, but will also have the appearance of a large, whimsical aircraft. When complete, the building will house the new Alaska Park Valet offices, corporate offices and meeting rooms, a sit-down dining café, and of course the parking facility which is now open. The completion of the main facility is scheduled for 2016.
