Its finally here. Today is the day that happens in every girls life. Ive dreaded it but its time to embrace the facts. Im never going to wear high heels again. I love high heels and Ive worn them all my life. Does anyone remember Candies? They were spike heels with a plastic sole, leather uppers and an ankle strap. I toddled around in those with a baby on my hip. Over the years I have looked at heels as feminine, graceful, stylish additions to my wardrobe. Today after traipsing all over the State Capitol and from building to building on campus I have come to the undeniable conclusion that my feet hurt! There comes a time in life when comfort trumps style. Im there. Im hanging up the heels. From now on Im wearing flats. Very soon I will probably be permanently in big, squishy tennis shoes.
