Its funny that the portion of this video that was floating around Facebook not long ago was the portion that looked like the debaters against hip-hop had the upper hand. I just watched the whole thing and these people that are debating against hip-hop were dancing around points that made this debate silly. I appreciate the opinions that were shared on both parts but at the end of the day hip-hop will not be another scapegoat. I engaged in a conversation in my high school class about the illuminati and I think the true issue surrounding this whole parade of ignorance and finger pointing is the fact that most forces in the media are driven by money. They make money by supplying what people want to buy. People means US as in me and you. If you want to change what is streamed through the main distrubters, we have to change what we desire to hear, see, and are willing to spend our money on. We cant continue to look to the media as a source of truth. It is a market based on selling. Do your homework and youll discover the truth your seeking. Giving the variety of circumstances that people are born into, we have to accept the fact that there are a variety of different values and moral compasses that people develop. It would be impossible to control this aspect but it is completely possible to control ourselves and what we bring to the table. In that case, raise your got dannm kids, add value to peoples lives but being the best you and spreading awareness, stop cutting the dannm budget for art in schools, stop calling our young people thugs and address mental and emotional health issues properly!
