Its great to feel like you helped a dog, or found a rescue for a litter of puppies or kittens. Looking ahead to those that will follow is the important part. Being able to look at the big picture and say how do we prevent the cycle of abuse. Is it best to buy or steal one fight dog or to report the crimes to save the hundreds that will follow? Do we talk a backyard breeder whos clueless, out of their pups even if they refuse to s/n or do we save many future litters and call ac and tell them well cover the s/n if they can get the ppl to comply? Are we big picture rescuers or little picture rescuers? I remind myself daily ten thousand will die each day regardless of which one I choose to rescue. We can never make more homes. The only variable number is the amount born in the future.
