Its hard.... Im really trying to put all my focus on my acting career. Thats why I cut back on 99.999% of my political posts. I was given some very good advice by some people in the industry, and they basically said that people who say certain things simply will not move ahead into the big-time, so to speak. Plus..... some of the really bad stories I post tend to come across as negative, or racist, or anti-whatever, and that can make a lot of people not want to see my movies. I can live with that, of course, but... is it fair to any of the companies and people that I make movies for? THAT is how you get broken, and quietly put on the dont use this guy list.... Lets say..... for example... that an actor has written about the situation in Ferguson, and maybe he doesnt share the sympathy for Michael Brown. Maybe he spoke out in support of waiting on all the info to come in, or he spoke out against the violence and looting.... Or lets say... for example, that actor wrote a post celebrating the fact that Attorney General Holder resigned today... and was damn happy about it, and maybe that actor pointed out that Holder participated in an armed takeover of an ROTC building back in his college days, during the Vietnam War. Or lets say that actor doesnt share the deep enthusiasm for sending billions of our tax dollars every year to the rich nation of Israel, so that it can take more and more land away from Palestinians. . And then lets say that actor is up for a role on a network tv show. Heck, maybe even a big role... And so, the lawyers are Googling him to see if theres any info that they need to know about him... Yes, they do that; background checks, too. Hey, its the modern age. If you were sinking a few million into some schmuck, wouldnt YOU want to know if he had skeletons in his closet??? They will check his Twitter and Facebook pages. They will look at his blog... . Oh, this actor has said some controversial things... Oh... we dont need to deal with THAT mess. Hell no. We dont need (whatever political cause) saying bad things about our show..... Scratch him off the list. Bring in the next actor. He seems pretty safe. No PR worries with the next guy. Whew. Lets all play ball and make some money. We have some cheeseburgers and toys to sell. . . And THAT, boys and girls, is how things work in the real world. . So, yeah, I stopped posting certain things. Im tired of talking about Ferguson, and crime, and the endless disastrous wars in the Middle East, and our completely open borders. I tell myself that it is giving me more time to focus on my scripts..... . Private messages from other actors on this subject are welcomed....
