Its hard to believe, but it has been four years since I retired from Cheltenham. It seems like yesterday, but the reality is no current student at CHS even knows I existed. YET, tonight, I had one of the greatest moments of my career! Thats right - TONIGHT! I had the privilege of attending the senior recital of Lucas DeJesus - a senior from my last year at CHS - at Westminster Choir College and it was pure magic! Lucas has an instrument that is vocal velvet - and tonight, he presented a spellbinding performance to a huge crowd! Yes, his voice has matured. Yes, he has progressed beyond imagination. But, Lucas has always had an incredible instrument - throughout high school - probably before high school - and, most certainly it will only get better in the future. Why do I know this? Because talent and skill are one thing, but music must come from the soul. And when it comes to Lucas DeJesus, there isnt a more genuine and wondrous soul on the planet! Congratulations, my friend!
