Its hard to believe, but its been a little over 6 months since the new Playground Build Day! Soon the snow will be gone (I promise!) and the kids will flock to the playground and remind us what a wonderful thing this community did last September. Communities across Canada will celebrate National Volunteer Week from April 6 to April 13 and will take the time to thank and honour people who donate their time to help others by supporting the causes in which they believe. Volunteer Week also serves to reinforce the human values that volunteering represents and increase awareness of the vital importance of volunteerism to our communities. Do you remember the feeling of what it was like to see our community come together on Build Day (and all the planning and events that led to that day)? It was extremely moving and I know many of us were inspired by it all. It was volunteerism at its best. I am excited to tell you that our Community Park project has been recognized by Recreation Nova Scotia and will be awarded a Provincial Volunteer Award at the 40th Annual Provincial Awards Ceremony on April 7th! Congratulations everyone! We Dream. We Build. We Play. We Celebrate.
