Its hard to tell the truth some times. Reality can be too painful. Ive been praying about what to say to my mom Sherryl Dimitry Stalinski & my dad Patrick Stalinski- theyre moving apart- there is darkness that is permeating their marriage. It doesnt get talked about publicly because it is truly private business. The truth is, they will likely both be upset with me for sharing this post so publicly. I am writing not as a son today, but a husband and a father- someone who is broken in many ways. I am speaking out not to shame my parents, or to seek attention, but to speak truth to them, and so many other dear friends who have gone through this same darkness too. Dad- you have been a great influence on my life in so many ways- you see things that arent obvious & can make obscure things clear for just about anyone you meet. If you want to save your marriage- look for what is wrong in yourself & face it. Mom- you have always been the standard bearer for deep understanding in my life- the decisions you are currently embracing betray your intelligence & are staggeringly unwise. People will rush to both of your defenses- they will be offended by what I said, or write me off as someone who doesnt realize the whole context of the situation- if water is pouring from the sky, people dont need to all believe its raining for that to be the truth. As I was driving today to get ready for an extraordinarily long day tomorrow a song by casting crowns came on the radio that I think will be an anthem for me when ever the love of my life, Cathy Stalinski and I have hard times. So I leave you with this link to their song. Please listen to it, let the images on the screen & words of the song wash over you. In the end, both parties need to be brave enough to try. youtu.be/RhxELo-uD3c
