Its has been an awesome day! Some of you may know that Im always working on projects, especially in collecting historical photos, doing research for stories - especially about the Latino community of Lubbock and the South Plains. Im an advocate of Hispanic veterans and for several years have put together an event to honor many of our veterans who quite frankly were or are not acknowledged for their service. Beyond our annual veterans reception, and my November issue being dedicated to veterans Im not working on something to further recognize the veterans of this area, and, I need your help. First, Im looking for living WWII veterans, Korean, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and veterans of current wars. Im looking for Purple Heart, and any and all decorated veterans. Even if they have passed and you want us to include them in this project we welcome their stories. If you are interested I ask you to please send me their names, the war or battle they might have fought in, the branch, we need photos names, if you have any of their medals, etc. Im going to depend on family members and I truly hope that you can help. We are also looking for Latina nurses, or Latinas that also served our country with courage and honor. If you have any special stories about your family veterans please write them and we will include you as a contributor. Please message me and send your contact info if you have additional questions. This will be a historical project, and I hope that you will include your loved loved who deserve honoring. Again, thank you for any assistance you can provide to bring this to fruition.
