Its interesting how so many people are looking at it as from now on theyll hire the less talented people to diversify the work environment. I think its actually quite the opposite. I believe in hindsight they have NOT been hiring the best of the best due to racial/gender profiling and are making huge changes about this going forward... If you never worked with people in HR you wouldnt believe the amount of times people who have weird sounding names on their resumes end up being passed over for something more recognizable. People vetting these resumes typically spend less then 30 seconds on each one. So yes basic information like the candidates name is the first thing that stands out to them... It happens more then you would think.
