Its interesting watching this snippet from the new Star Wars film how the sound matters so much, perhaps even more then the visuals. Its that same sound i.e. the effects from the original parts 4, 5 and 6 that is still ever present. I wonder if Star Wars can ever stand up on its own without having to constantly use what was created back in 1977. It demonstrates how ground-breaking the first films were. In the pic below, if Im not mistaken, that thing sticking out from the side of the heard gear seems to be a mic. If thats the case, you would have thought that if they can create a hyperdrive, they could fix the issue of having a mic right in front of your mouth for communication. I suppose its a question of priorities... :)
