Its kind of hard to believe that the day has come because I always wanted Derek Jeter to play forever because not only was he great at it, but you always knew deep down that he loved it so much that he wanted to play forever. Unfortunately, Father Time has sunk in. Throughout my childhood and up until this day, there was nobody I admired more on and off the ballfield than Jeter. Hes always shown class, dignity, humility and great sportsmanship that has led to so many great moments. Who will ever forget his rookie season in 96, the Subway Series, The Flip, the Mr. November moment, The Dive into the stands, the 09 run for his fifth title, the 3,000th hit game and so much more? Heres to one more great season to an all-time great Yankee ! Thanks Captain!
