Its long been a habit of mine to read How to Get a Guy articles in Cosmo or what ever dentist office magazine that crosses my path. Im curious if the author has even a tenuous grip on reality or is just filling pages for a paycheck. Ive honestly never noticed that any woman has ever tried any sort of technique on me; the women who were successful in picking me up never admitted to any sort of secret girl ninja training later in the relationship. It makes me wonder if the women who read these articles dont take them any more seriously than their horoscopes. As for the article I link to below, I agree that any of the techniques listed would be successful in getting me to talk to you with absolutely zero risk that I might mock you loudly and publicly. Although I would probably turn down the offer of gum if it had aspartame or some sugar free chemical that would end up giving me a massive headache. In any case I would be reluctant to accept even wrapped food from a stranger on the basis of a 5 second relationship. However, even with these other successful techniques for breaking the ice, the chances approach zero that Id realize that a woman wanted me to ask for her phone number. If nothing else works and all your best hints fail, Id suggest dropping a statement that there is an event you are really looking forward next week into the flow of conversation. That will give the guy an entire week to convince himself that that cute girl might really, actually, kinda, probably might have sorta been interested. He can then look up the time and place of the event online (instead of letting the scrap of paper you gave him go through the wash) and show up at the last minute casually looking around as if his fragile ego wasnt riding on the successful outcome of his search. Most men need to activate the search mode portion of their brain in order to gain access to the romantic behavior subroutines.
