Its moments like this when fostering makes you an emotional wreck. Our senior boy Phoenix lost his battle today and I held him as we had to say goodbye. Phoenix, formerly Pickles, came to BCAA in terrible shape, but Lorraine was willing to give this little boy a second chance. Unfortunately, Phoenix became anemic, had several ulcers that would not heal, went into renal failure, and had several blood levels that were off the charts. When he refused to eat or drink for more than a day, we knew it was time to end his pain. At least he knew love in his last weeks. Thanks go to so many people... those who helped with transport, the many vets and vet techs who worked with him, Lorraine, Sue, Maria, Wendy, Vicki, and everyone who helped with donations and prayers for this special boy. RIP my sweet Phoenix
