Its morning at Bally Vaughan Animal Sanctuary and before the sun - TopicsExpress

Its morning at Bally Vaughan Animal Sanctuary and before the sun even has a chance to peek its head over the hills and let its wintery rays warm the earth the Sanctuary is awake and stirring. Many of the animals are still snuggled up in the warmth of their cosy hay beds. The cattle, zebra and zorse are a close knit group their bodies warm from the closeness, an occasional snort and snuffle emits a vapour of icy air up into the sky, a pig grunts contentedly, a serval stretches and yawns, one little monkey opens a sleepy eye then closes it again and snuggles closer to his mom. A sleepy call from a waking bird is muffled by the rising mist off the cold waters of the dam. The lions call lazily one after the other, their roars welcoming in the day. The cloudless winters sky is an arctic blue. As always the sun’s appearance brings with it the early morning breeze that sweeps over the lands of Africa as if to blow away the shadows of yesterday and bring with it the clean start of a new day. A new and busy day at Bally Vaughan.
