Its nice that so many people are getting out there to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, the problem is that people are beginning to lose sight of the real reason that it was started. Its NOT for cancer, downs syndrome, local hospices, adopt-a-pet or just for fun..... Its to try and highlight Motor Neurone Disease in the public domain to raise awareness about this (and only this) disease and to promote support for the charities that are trying to do something about it through donations. They are much smaller than charities like Macmillan Cancer Trust etc, and need support more than them. Im not saying that these other charities dont deserve support and donations.... of course they do, but everyone should try to keep sight of why the Ice Bucket Challenge was started in the first place, otherwise the whole point of it is nullified.
