Its not the fact that by eating low carb youre losing weight. Its that by eating lower carbs youre are consuming less calories (Correlation not causation). Anytime your restrict a macro nutrient (protein, carbs or fat) and are in a deficit this will happen. Your body needs carbs, they serve a purpose. Without out a proper amount your energy and energy expenditure will be less causing you to not burn as many calories. All that is needed to lose fat is a caloric deficit. Calories in vs. Calories out. Instead of restricting carbs have an overall balanced diet while still remaining in a deficit. In the comment section is a great study on this by Dr. Brad Schoenfeld
